New Products for InWorldz

This is my new Foxglove Orchid which I am more or less finished making. The flower prim is based on the shape of a foxglove (digitalis) hence the name... though I doubt we'll ever see a foxglove in RL with these colours.

It should go on sale soon on my sim soror Nishi Island.

Nyx Breen is doing a show of various elf-inspired floating islands on his sim, details to follow, and this group of floating islands (in Tree of Trees colours) I thought could be something someone might want on their own sim, so I have it/them for sale on my sim ... contact me for details....

Now, I'm not sure if I have mentioned in these pages that Nazz Lane has done a very competent interview with me on his excellent blog Lane's List....

...and I am sure I haven't mentioned Neph's post on the ecological advantages brought to her bog by the planting of the Telepathic Bog Lilly which is a more recent post... here. Dark Moon sim is in SL, and mentioned previously here.

...and....

.... have a good sunday..

Dark Moon.

Nepherses Amat is a true Virtual World biologist in that she understands about virtual flora, or Flora Virtua Exotica as I have called it on many occasions...

Just as the importation of RL houses and cars can be seen as a rather pathetic attempt to surround new pioneers in a foreign world with items from the Old Country, like comfort blankets..... so too are the attempts to grow species native to RL in this environment.

Nepherses has sought out those native plants that will thrive and created an ecosystem which is in harmony, and now a greenhouse too..... as Nyx Breen has in InWorldz. Neph has catalogued the workings of the ecosystem here.... as I have posted before.

Indigenous is a great word.

...anyway.... This from Dark Moon....

"Greetings and Salutations Dark Moon Spirits & Visitors~

I am happy to report that my research team has complied an exhibition of some of the endemic plant life of Dark Moon's Bog. Please note that these plants have volunteered to teach us, and to stay here in the atrium for short periods of time so that Dark Moon guests can understand how important each plant's role is in the ecosystem. Please click on each plant, and the seed pod to learn more.

My research team is still investigating other life forms here at Dark Moon. Hopefully, we will know more soon!

Also note, we have recently found that the vibrational level of the loving plants actually increase psychic ability in avatars! Prolly humans too! So now we are proud to introduce Teresa John, a tarot reader of some renown. Teresa will be reading cards up on the mezzanine of this atrium periodically while the exhibition stands. Please contact her if you would like a reading"

and...about those readings....

"teresa John is one of the best Tarot Card readers in SL. Not only is she guided by The Goddess and God but she is Honest when she interprets the Tarot. Anyone can tell you what you want to hear. She will tell you what you need to hear.

If you would like a little light shed on your future and are interested in a reading the rates are as follows :

3 Card - 100L
Horsehoe- 250L
Cross - 500L

Send teresa John an IM or NC for an appointment and be ready for the truth to be revealed."

Well, photos of the atrium above...and the LM is ...here.

...and it's always a pleasurable place to visit and learn of how our world looked before the Lindens cleared the land of it's natural vegetation and overgrazed the land with goats .... leading to the sorry state of the soil today, poor sand and weak grass being all that will grow until nurtured.

A recommended visit.

Telepathic Swamp Lilly

Well, I have been a bit slow on my blog this week again.... Wednesday, the UWA awards thingy saw me presented with a Norden Art Award courtesy of Flora Nordenskiold, and many thanks to her for that.... full list of winners here.

I realised that the two new products that are for sale now, The Telepathic Swamp Lilly and the Carpet Tree (has not yet migrated to IWz) haven't even been mentioned on my blog and so I now rectify that blog lag....thus...

The Telepathic Swamp Lilly features prominently in Transubstantiation, my latest build .... the philosophy of which has attracted some discussion by Botgirl and Aaron P to mention just two.

The Carpet Tree is currently only available at Nishi Disposals, along with the Telepathic Swamp Lilly, which is also available on my island in InWorldz.

I hope you enjoy them.

New Trees at Rainbow Country

Rainbow Country is the name of my shop sim at Inworldz, and the latest tree set for sale there is the totally new Twisted Tree..

Its 27 prims and really only good at night, it bleaches out too much in daylight, tho it is copy/mod so you can play with the glow or the particles....

As it can be a bit difficult to find new stuff.....( forest and trees sayings come to mind...) ... I have built a little showcase pavilion at sea level under the big slanting rock, and I'll showcase the latest stuff there so it's easy to find.

Currently showing the Fuschia Orchid, the Xmas Daisy Tree and the Twisted Tree...

The LM is in my InWorldz Picks, and classified...or

IM me...

The Xmas Daisy Tree

Great to have plenty of time to mess about and fiddle with textures. This is my latest tree in IWz, also originally grown on my local OS grid. I have just finished reading a chinese book so I may have been a bit influenced, tho the chrysanthemum-like daisy textures were probably enough to get my creative juices flowing in that direction.... tho the trunk is maybe more japanese, to be precise.

It's my first one of the new year, or last of the old, depending how you look at it.... and a great start I think.

In the deep midwinter....

Day One of my Local Grid, Soror Nishi Land, and I have started already on the heavy landscaping. Altho you can't get a scale of it yet, these 256 meter rock stacks are occupying a whole sim ... with the other three sims sunk under water... It's gonna be a very interesting terrain.

So, of course, it takes a very short time to upload 1000 textures as no ISP is involved and that gives me even more freedom with experimenting which textures fit best. I used this new workshop to create my first piece, today...as seen below...it's my entry for the UWA thingy: December.

so...Day Two... it's the Grove of Lanternfruit Trees... and the first tree created here.

Now, it is of course, the lunar eclipse....full details courtesy of Miso....here. ... and on the verge of the longest night it's great to realise that summer starts here....sort of.

So, with all good will to you all, with good wishes and kind thoughts I pray for light, laughter and levity for everyone both in this season and the following year.

i.e. *hugs*

Busy Little B(uilder)

Well, just to keep you all up to date.... I haven't been slacking even tho I've been a little less social recently..

I am currently rebuilding my little forest at the UWA...(don't forget to vote for the monthly challenge).. and am maybe half-way there...

This is my latest orchid, which I have just finished InWorldz, I'm calling it the Fuschia Orchid, which is obviously a name that won't win any awards, but I run out of names at times..:))

And these shots...

...are from Tesseract on InWorldz...

...where I'm working on a forest as a part of one of Mouser's projects....

So pop in/over and say hi whenever you feel like it, the RL snow will be keeping me torturing prims for the next few days it seems..

Keep warm..

Nishi Disposals

Juanito Deharo has been so kind as to offer me some prims to put out some trees and things for sale. I have changed permissions to make almost everything copy/mod and should you need anything....... just pop over here.

Meanwhile, in InWorldz, I have set out a small oak forest and some few trees at Angel's Loft....

Jeri Rahja who owns Angel's Loft has some spare prims and would like to sponsor anyone who makes quality stuff with some space as she hasn't used up her 45,000 yet...so...if you need some space to set things out, or display some art, get in touch with her, or talk to me first.

This would be a good way to get a bit of a foothold in IWz...... after all, fast, easy, fun might get a bit much .......

Miso, Wizzy and I solving the worlds problems by the light of the moon last night....

all cool..

New product..

The ink is still wet on The Pitcher Plant and it is available, well, more or less, in both worlds, SL and InWorldz...

...and the Night Orchid which won a prize at UWA one month is now available InWorldz too...I remade it.

The DJ is confirmed for InWorldz rezzday on Saturday, 2 til 4 pm PDT, Noxluna Eclipse...so....Nox Rox at the Alchemy Labs, be there or be ... somewhere else......

Rezzday, InWorldz...

Built a couple of new Oak Trees InWorldz over the past couple of days, loosely based on their SL cousins. Always good to have not-too-kooky trees for people who want a Not-Too-Kooky-Forest. Will no doubt make a few different (kooky?) colour schemes over time.

Some of you may recognise this Bluebird Orchid from SL, it's now available in IW where the fact that its a bit prim heavy won't worry anyone....

Now, Saturday, it is my Rezzday in Inworldz. ... and, you are, of course all welcome. Still trying to find a DJ, and I've asked DD if he wants to come to IW for the first time and do a gig... we will see... anyway...one thing is for certain...I will be there from 2 til 4 pm PDT and will be dancing to the radio if nothing else.....or chilling with a few friends. Probable location, all bugs willing, will be Alchemy Labs at my platform (400m)....just IM for a tp when you arrive.

New Flower

This is my entry for the February round of the UWA competition.....it's called The Night Orchid... I guess for fairly obvious reasons....

...but before you think you want to have a few dotted around your pad.....it's 100 prims!! ...so..... one per 512 m2 ...hehehhhe.

That's the nature of competitions tho, in FL too, things get bred specially...

Still, it's pretty and if you are over that way, check it out at UWA.

epiSTEMS

These are all taken at Snowy's place....see below for SLURL.

:))

Snowy Hoobinoo

http://snowyhoobinoo.blogspot.com/2009/06/and-so-it-starts.html

Welcome and all respect to Snowy...as his post details he has started on that difficult path of trying to pay tier on a regular basis.

There are so few, Snowy, Pixi, Jedda and of course others who make the occasional plant, and me... a small group of people trying to breed and rear Indigenous Virtual Flora. Snowy is a real asset and we look forward to seeing what else grows in his nursery.

You can tp directly here and enjoy the colours and shapes.

Welcome.

Tree

Well.. this tree has been a problem to plant, poor thing. It started life at Scotsgreymousers sandbox, visited a couple of sims at Caerleon before finally taking root on my beach.

Its my 75th Ancient One and, not for the small back garden, its 180 prims approx... so its by order only...too big to link..:))

The scale is great for the beach and it will stay, although the other stuff may well get moved around... everywhere is like a building site at the moment...the shop is a real mess....so be warned.. but that hasn't stopped the intrepid shoppers...I'm glad to say.

I read that LL are "consulting" on what to do about bots...(an earlier topic in these pages) and, if you have the will... can comment ....I just didn't think I could spare the time to read thro all the stuff, but if someone has more time than me.......

I figure that they will do whatever they decide to do..(duh! stupid comment)... and I will get to hear about it eventually.

oooo...I do like building....

Aliz said I should get the Salt HUD for calling up any size mega prim you want, and tho I was a bit stroppily resistant in the beginning ...she is right...absolute miracle... should have had one years ago (except they weren't available)... so I have been mega ...ing my little socks off.

also I joined Builders Brewery (group) and they are like the Mac Users...a great bunch of chatterboxes...love it.

busy as an ant...

Soror's vertical shop

Well, as I seem to be running out of space somewhat on the beach and the shop is quite full, I thought I would try a new style of shop and so I am arranging my new plants vertically.
As you can see from the photo, it should be possible to fly and hover. It gives the possibility of camming around each plant 360.
I would be interested in getting feedback, so .....what do you think?? good idea or not??
