New Products (april)

Yes, another headdress, this one is a little less "antler like"
(RANT WARNING) so its easier to get thro those stupid RL style doorways people will insist on building even tho they know we can't walk that well, especially when its laggy.... those people should be given some Award For Daft Building. I love the blog What the Fug which points out how NOT to dress (for those with no idea whatsoever) so maybe I should do one for building monstrosities.... hmmm..
come to think of it.... I tend to tell the builders directly. Which is how the first person who got upset with me got annoyed. Maybe he would have taken it better from an older person, I was only a week old or so at the time. Poor Mr. Stockmarket got very irritated. I simply told him that the stockmarket building was the ugliest thing I had seen in any world.... in retrospect, I suppose that is pretty annoying.
Maybe The Soror Nishi Award.... mmmm ... awarded annually/monthly/sporadically for THE most useless waste of prims...
any nominations, dear reader??

A little pavilion... and

a pool of tranquility seen through the clouds, enough to steady anyones frayed architectural sensibilities, even those as sensitive as mine.

A Freak of Nature.

well, I have just started a new group, heaven knows what for, but you are welcome to join... its called "A Freak of Nature"

is this a Twit?

Pixi , daffodils and other stuff

So....this is Pixi Cosmos, but not how she normally looks, (just use this blogs search for a better photo) but how I found her the other day (with difficulty) in this nano prim avi. Anyway, she has started a new blog which is worth keeping your eye on, not because she has been so flattering about me, but because she is an "up and coming" artist. She has made three trees recently and the first two were good, but the third is fantastic.

The flower she is hiding in is an Island Daffodil which is my contribution to the Primaverda show which opens on Saturday. This is a major show. at a preview the other day my immediate thoughts were of the skills needed to stage such an event. here White Lebed who we know as a talented designer and sculptor has shown other talents and I was very impressed, its definitely gonna be a Must See.... more details will follow.

And we learn that nominations are being asked for by the Lindens. Hmmm...great....what a shame theres nothing in there to encourage Nature and Environments. What about best coral reef or tropical rain forest..... oh well... sand and Linden trees is the norm after all, I'm just a Freak of Nature.... Hmmm... now THATS a good name for a group...

The Immaculate Conception of soror Nishi.

Now, this is a true tale.......

This is my humans birthday, and, 3 years ago to the day, a small canvas for oil painting was among the birthday presents....

I got painted on that canvas over the next few weeks.... and so, nothing much happened until a year later when my human heard about SL and saw a way of giving birth to me in 3D.... and I was rezzed into existence... after a years gestation.

and the rest is documented history...

G20 hype inflation

Well, the G20 meeting in London, attended by 22 world leaders (duh! do the math, someone) has just finished and comedians the World over are missing George Bush and his specially amusing input. Obama is Ok, but he actually looks like someones President, Bush looked like a mistake had been made.

George Brown is coming pretty close to ridicule with his repeated claims to have single-handedly started a "new world order' (which sounds like a 70's pop band) and the recent claim that a Maczillion US$ would be pumped into the economy turns out to be around 100 Milllion US$ of new money (so new the ink hasn't dried on it yet).

As a gift to these influential visitors to London, each person was given a goodie bag showcasing the high points of British creativity, in this bag there was.... a tea towel, chocolates, a candle and a tie. No instructions were enclosed, though I am sure no perverse sexual ritual involving all these items was ever intended.

Now, if I gave that stuff away at a show in my freebie box I would expect everyone to be as underwealmed as the world leaders must have been.... and to think we were once a world power, drying dishes by candle-light the world over....

Meanwhile out on the naked streets of London a body of protesters broke the windows of a bank that they own 70% of... DUH !!

....and, unsurprisingly, after all the talk, the after dinner cheeses and luxury hotel rooms, nothing really changes. We have all been instinctively tightening our belts and keeping our hands in our pockets and no amount of hype is gonna get us consumers all out throwing caution to the wind. I'm no rocket scientist (yet) but I could have told em that a few months ago, (17.09.08. I wrote 'world goes tits up'...ok..maybe not very detailed economic analysis...)

It would be nice to think that people have just decided that they have enough useless crap in their lives already ... and for anyone in doubt... how many appliances have you got in that kitchen cupboard that don't get used?

All this means is that, like nature, cycles of growth and decay are the normal rhythm of things: we have to learn to live with them and adjust our lives accordingly.

Glyph Graves

these are just teasers, not spoilers...

Glyph Graves has a great show on....... well worth a visit.
Courtesy of RobertSteven Smythe and FreeWee Ling at Artemiesia, Galerie de la Vie....

Glyphs amazing moving sculptures (I normally hate rotating tex on boring stuff) are definitely worth a visit. He does the most outrageous sculpties, and I'm a sculptie fan, and then colours them with great thought and imagination.
I loved his Windswept 2, tho many are pure poetry.

Its no wonder he's one of our best sculptors. He is one of the few who use SL as a medium to produce stuff you could never see or make in FL.

While you are there.. check out a very nice piece by Sunn Thunders, next door, and two fantastic plants by my good friend (now departed SL) Kaltusaran Moonsoo outside in the flower bed.

My New Shop

Well, its not quite finished, but as I already am having visitors it would be neglectful of me not to invite my readers. This is the view of it from the stack, at the other end of the island.

This is it still cooking.... I have a few prims left... but not many

If you have a bad graphics card like mine the Flower Shop could take you 4 minutes to load, so go make a coffee while you are waiting...

And this is new.... one floor for me to sell furniture from....

so....the SLURL is here

and you can use the old LM, if you have the right one...otherwise you will fall...heheheh.....but its also poss to fly up from the beach of course.
