Nordans Gallery Show

I have put together a little wintery sort of installation at the Nordans Gallery...

along with...

Trill Zapatero
Typote Beck
Feathers Boa
Syn Beresford

and Igor Ballyhoo has some permanent pieces at the gallery.

The show opens at 2pm today, Saturday and you are very welcome to pop along and have a look.

Flora Nordenskiold is the curator/owner and has a blog here.. She asked me to show after having seen The Companion and so I thought a little ice skating and seasonal feel would be in order...

Deutche Info Welt

Well, I know this is a bit bad, cos I have never done this before, but this is the second time I've used this image, for the observant among you.

Thing is, I have an opening tomorrow, here, The Space Convention Centre, at 2 PM SLT.

I have a new flower and a much improved Alien Tree (after SL6B) and a small planting of my stuff.... pop along if you have time and get bored of BL.

Soleil at Angelgate.

White Lebed has again produced an amazing show of several artists, well known and less known, in what is probably the most avatar friendly gallery I know.

The above photo is a piece by Adam Ramona which I liked a lot, reminding me of something Selavy might have done .

I also enjoyed Glyphs piece, a large thingy on the roof, Oberon Onmura, Miso Susanowa, Ub Yifu and, of course, Alizarin Goldflake all had pieces which were worth seeing.

Considering how annoyed SL art has made me recently, it was very refreshing to see so many good works in one place. Even the pieces by Sapphoria Shilov, Nessuno Myoo and Morgana Nagorski, altho not remarkable, showed promise (sorry if that sounds a bit condescending, but there you are...) and worth trying to follow their future work.

Many of the pieces were right on track for the theme, some, like mine, were stretching it a bit but that will always be the case with a themed show, and didn't worry me one iota.

Well done White, impressive again.

Got new hair, always worth a mention...specially this much. Worked out very cheap in a volume/L$ sort of a way.

Evolution

Evolution is a new Gallery, opened by Sabrinaa Nightfire and Alan801 Eclipse, and is at Cassowary (89,111,61)

I went back there today to get a photo and say a little more about it than I did the other day.

It is a huge space as you can see from the photo, and Marnies prims, which could have benefitted from a better tex, and Sabrinaa's photos dont really fill the space.

Sabrinaa did such a great job with the One Prim Wonder show at Caerleon, but putting on two exhibitions at the same time may have been just too much of a logistical nightmare. A huge space like this needs very large sculptures to fill, the wall space is proportionally small compared to the volume, and it is volume that would be needed.

Its a personal taste thing, and I can only give you mine, I dont like sculptures placed 'randomly' outside in the garden. I am of the strong belief that objects sit together in 3D space in a definite relationship. A composition is needed in 3D, even more than in 2D. If things, object, don't sit in a well composed relationship to each other ...all the objects lose out.

3D composition is a very difficult art, and one I have practiced from the age of 4, so I am intensely aware when things dont work.

So....a great space, congratulations, and one, I am sure we will be hearing more about, but this show is suffering from the teething troubles a lot of new galleries experience, namely that the owners will have to learn how to use their space to its best avdvantage. I wish them a lot of luck, we know Sabrinaa to be a talented artist and organiser, and I look forward to seeing how Evolution evolves.
